What shapes who we are?

Grace

When it come to what makes us who we are, it is often a combination of factors. It is the relationships between our Biological factors, such as genetic tendencies to mental health issues, our Social factors, such as bad or traumatic life experiences, and our Psychological factors, such as the coping stratagies. The combination and interaction of any/all of the factors shapes who we are.

Issues with mental health emerge when the relationship or combination are:

  • Problematic- affecting yourself and other around you

  • Persistant- last over a long amount of time

  • Pervasive- if the problem is encompassing

It may be interesting and helpful to understand what has shaped you. By identifying the areas you believe have effected you it will help you understand yourself and your triggers.
